Dan Cook Live is your connection to TV and film sound recording services of LA-based sound mixer, Dan Cook.

Dan is outfitted for and experienced with all formats, including network news, multi-track reality TV, documentary run-and-gun, live shots, and single camera and episodic production audio…not to mention webisodic featurettes, web presentations (sometimes streaming) for independent, corporate, and social media start-ups.

Available are one or two sound-packages that can provide anywhere from 2 to 12 channels of clear audio in bag-based, cart-based, or studio-based sound capture. Also available are playback monitors and mics for a musical performance or spoken word.

SOUND REINFORCEMENT

Dan Cook Live enterprises has the gear for all of the film and TV production sound needs…including a sound reinforcement for small venues, such as night clubs, comedy clubs, musical venues, and video playback for music videos. This is in addition to the six and twelve channel portable mixers that he has for production television and film audio.

Its not unusual for Dan to be seen recording live events, providing production audio to the camera, and also bringing sound reinforcement to the crowd with yet another mixer and several JBL Eon monitors and stick mics at his disposal.

MUSICIAN

Dan Cook is also a regional LA-based musician and recording artist who can be seen playing out all over the place…sitting in with other musicians, or rocking an acoustic afternoon. East Valley. West Valley. Hollywood. Regionally.

Dan played in clubs in Baltimore for eight years before coming to Los Angeles in 2008 to work as a sound mixer and play as a musician. As a solo acoustic guitarist who also had a three-piece band, he played in Fell’s Point in Maryland, George Mason University, and bars and clubs all over the region. No club, cafe, or cabana in Maryland was off limits to Dan as a solo artist or with his band, NC-17.

Dan has recorded a short LP of originals and in the process of organizing some more tracks for a new album. You might have heard some of those originals while sifting through the pages of this here website.
